What a pleasure to travel with this team. I love the way the Lord brings people together to work as a team on these trips. To see Marc persevere and meet challenges, Reci's compassion and care, Hilda blossom in ministry, and Danno's energy unleashed was a real blessing.
During our school visit I met a young man who had moved to the DR from Germany. He searched me out to talk about soccer and I encouraged him to start his own group there at the school. That was not the real reason we met, though. After our first encounter, I asked if he could be brought to us. We learned how the DR had rejected his courses from Germany and how discuuraged he was. This is when Hilda was able to share her similar story when she moved to El Salvador and how the Lord helped her overcome.
At our chess night I was able to help a 5 year old work on pawn moves. What a pleasure to see his brain working to strategize his moves against his opponent. It was very visible!
